Amy Thomas’ small-batch wheel-thrown handmade pottery is crafted in her home studio perched on the edge of moorland overlooking the village of Haworth, West Yorkshire.
“I have always had a love of all things ceramic, and over the years collected pottery from my adventures around the world. After a ten year career as a midwife I decided to take some time out to raise my growing family. By the time my baby boy became a toddler I found I needed a little escapism from full time motherhood, once in a while. I joined a local pottery evening class at Old Stables Studio in Hebden Bridge, and was hooked from the very first moment my hands touched the wet clay!
My pottery is mostly inspired by the nature that surrounds me here in beautiful Yorkshire, and leans towards natural earthy tones of blue and green hues, as well as feminine blush pinks and simple whites.”
