Amy Dunnill creates small batch, handmade ceramics from her small garden studio in Shipley.
“The inspiration behind Klara is finding beauty and joy in functional objects. I create objects that I hope will find a special place in people’s homes and daily routines. Working in small batches and making by hand means each piece is considered and precious. I have always been conscious to not bring more ‘stuff’ into the world without purpose or value. Clay is a natural resource and once fired, ceramics feel more permanent. Colour, texture and light are all elements which I take from Northern landscapes. I test glazes, reactions and surface textures in an attempt to capture this in my work.”
