The North is Now pop-up (Winter edition) features 20 independent contemporary Northern brands from across Yorkshire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Cumbria, Merseyside, Cheshire and Newcastle-upon-Tyne, with a product selection that spans a diverse range of sectors, from fashion, skincare and jewellery to homeware, stationery and publishing.Â
Curated by Kate Baxter, of Fabric of the North, and hosted by Yvonne Aboagye-Hobson, of TYRO (studios).Â

Set within Wharf Street Studios co-working and event space in a Grade II listed former wool warehouse, Wharf Street Coffee is open daily to the public serving up speciality coffee from local roasters Casa Coffee, alongside locally made baked goods and pastries. Drink in and take-out are both available.Â

House of Bread.
253 Bradford Rd, Frizinghall, Shipley BD18 3AB
A family-owned Polish Bakery & Patisserie, specialising in sourdough bread, cakes, pastries, tarts and more. Founded by Barbara Laszkowska, who hails from the Kaszuby region of Poland, bakery offers a mix of sweet treats each week, including caramel crunch slices filled with almond, hazelnuts and walnuts and poppyseed swirls.Â
Il Pirata Pizzata.
91 Bingley Rd, Saltaire, Shipley BD18 4SB
An award winning contemporary Neapolitan pizzeria, using Petra flour from the world renowned Molino Quaglia mill and tomatoes that are certified organic from the artisanal Casa Marrazzo. Dough is pre-fermented using a 48-hour process, hand-stretched and cooked at 500c for less than 90 seconds, to give a light and airy crust. The menu includes a wide range of meaty, veggie and vegan options to suit all tastebuds, including Tifosi (v – truffle crust), Moser (ve – pesto base) and Marco (proscuitto, with pistachio cream base).

Paul Binns of Saltaire is a locally sourced, family run, modern day butchery shop in the heart of Saltaire high street. Binns has been serving the community since 1968, with a meat counter offering poultry, lamb, beef, pork and game, alongside a deli offering of British charcuterie, award-winning pies, Scotch eggs and pasties, and British cheese. They also offer a wide selection of jams, chutneys, locally grown herbs and local honey.Â

A beautiful and relaxing independent coffee shop offering speciality coffee and a daily changing plant focussed breakfast and lunch menu. All cakes are baked on-site in their tiny cafe kitchen, with vegan options always available. Coffee is from North Star Coffee Roasters in Leeds.Â

Cultures is a deli and draught-house with a love for all things fermented! Describing itself as a ‘community hub’, the artisan corner shop serves up cheese platters, pickle plates and locally produced bread (from House of Bread) in-store, alongside wine and beer on draught, including Northern Monk. They also run a bottle deposit scheme so customers can have their glass bottles refilled with wine or beer to enjoy at home.

An award-winning restaurant and bar set in the wonderful grounds of Victoria Mills complex, serving a breakfast, brunch and lunch menu daily from 9am-3pm, and a Thai evening menu Thursday-Sunday. Breakfast and brunch options include the Copper & Moss Big Breakfast, chilli halloumi breakfast bagel and chocolate honeycomb waffles, while lunch options include the Cuban sandwich, Croque Monsieur and Saltaire beer battered fish sandwich.Â

Located within the historic Salts Mill in Saltaire Village, Salts Diner is a bustling dining venue popular with young and old alike, surrounded by works by David Hockney. You can enjoy everything from breakfast to light bites and salads, burgers and pizza, and even tea, coffee and scones.

Outside of hosting the North is Now pop-up, TYRO (studios) host a range of creative workshops and events for individuals, groups, and organisations, working closely with artists and makers within the local community to deliver beautiful, mindful and specifically, beginner-friendly workshops, including pottery, watercolour painting, life drawing, macramé, candle making and more!Â

Cartwright Hall.
Lister Park, Bradford BD9 4NS
Standing in the the magnificent, Green Flag-awarded grounds of Lister Park, about two miles south of Shipley, Cartwright Hall was built on the former site of Manningham Hall. It opened as a gallery in 1904 and today includes works by master printmakers such as Francisco Goya, William Blake and Walter Sickert and modern masters including Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Richard Hamilton.Â

Visit the resident artists at Wharf St. Studios, an inspiring and creative environment for designers, makers and craftspeople with a focus on networking and collaboration, set across 3 floors of a Grade II listed former wool warehouse by the canal. Here you will find the open studios of Becca Macdonald, Salt Weave Studio and Katie Bentley Ceramics, among others.Â
Lister Park.
Lister Park, Bradford BD9 4NS
Lister Park is one of Bradford’s 6 Green Flag parks and home to Cartwright Hall Museum and Art Gallery. Created in 1870 around Manningham Hall and grounds, the formal park was laid out to include Mughal Water Gardens – a synthesis between Islamic and Indian architectural styles, and the first of its kind in Northern England – alongside a boating lake, cafe and bandstand, which hosts concerts on Sunday afternoons during the summer.
